When you eventually make ActiveX and HTML5 versions perform in the same way, can you make sure the final functionality includes NO coloured background on the text

I agree - to have the option of the background colour on / off would be beneficial.
Yes - non coloured background box to appear with same options to select in Chrome and Explorer
Would be useful if coloured background was optional.
This would be a very useful update to give visual clarity to the import drawing mark up process
No colored background on the text would help a lot as sometimes this can block important drawing information/details.
