If - for instance - a drawing has been uploaded, revision C1 and everything is cushty except for a minor mistake in the title block, you should be able to QA reject the item, notify the owner and then the owner should be able to re-upload the corrected drawing at the same C1 revision.
Otherwise, there is a world out there where someone makes a few of these mistakes causing a few internal rejections and before you know it, you've gone from revision C1 to C4 and nothing has actually left the building yet! Your client design team is asking where revisions C2 and C3 are and confusion reigns supreme.

It is better to edit the revision to read ? / Rejected, so you still have this "wrong" item in the history of the drawing/document. When they revise it with the corrected document, they just removed everything and just have the original revision.
It's no point someone just editing to replace the "wrong" document as you won't know it's been done because the QA Rejected node colour will still be visible. At least by doing the above it will take it back to QA Check stage.
Agree with this but unable to vote - other systems allow this function. I'm told options are to delete the rejected revision (whole point is to maintain traceability) or change the rejected revision (this is a manual, time consuming task) - neither of which I feel are suitable actions for something which should already be built into the system.
You can ask them to amend the mistake, click edit and replace the files instead of revising. By doing it you can keep the same revision... The user is notified of the rejection (with the comments) by an automated email generated by VfP when it reaches the rejection node
Completely agree.
This is essential functionality that is missing from VFP. Please action this one asap
