Sometimes to save time on waiting for information to be uploaded we can upload it ourselves but with the new uploading tool, it doesn't allow you to change the author/originator for multiple uploads. Having this option would save a lot of time as it would mean editing all new items later to reflect this.

You can change the the author and owner on a bulk upload. In the top right had corner of the the pending uploads screen there is a cog icon select the cog the select advanced this will give you the option to change the required
I would be very mindful of uploading on behalf of the author/originator. If the item enters a workflow and even if you have subsequently changed the author/originator details, they will be unable to see it as the system will not recognise them as the owner/uploader. They need to be the 'actual' uploaded/item owner.
