We have a number of projects ongoing with design companies and construction companies, all of who use 4P as their document repositories. When these projects reach certain stages we have to transfer the completed documents between the various companies. As a result, the partners need to transfer the documents on one 4P enterprise over to another 4P enterprise, recreating containers etc in the new enterprise.
To date, this has meant that the Admin teams in the various companies have had to download each individual document (over 1000+ per project) and then upload them again to the next 4P platform, taking weeks of peoples time to do. Other systems have much easier and better ways of doing this and we need to have a simple way of doing this with 4P. I am sure that the majority of Viewpoint customers may have similar issues.
Would it not be relatively easy for Viewpoint to have a batch copy facility between enterprises? As individuals need to have access rights to each relevant enterprise to undertake the current copying it should be possible for Viewpoint to implement a batch copy between enterprises once you have checked the credentials of the requesting user for each enterprise. The copied files could be held in a tempory holding container in the destination enterprise, so as to allow the admin to then move the files over to their container structure, rather than have to use an imposed container structure from another company; but this would be so much easier than downloading and uploading every file.
