Being able to create a dynamic container that is dependant on a static container rather than original source

Within our enterprise we have standard drawings in the 'Group' Site that then need to link down to the individual development Projects within Regional Sites. These will link into the Virtual Static Container’s in the Technical area to allow the regions to control revisions at a development level e.g. if they need/want to build out a site on the same revision. Ideally we would want the Commercial Tender folders to link to the Technical area via a Virtual Static Container as a ‘point in time’ basis and then when this subcontractors are appointed a Virtual Dynamic Container for Awarded Packages would link to the files statically linked to the Regional development Technical area from the 'Group' master files. We would want this to mean that if we update a file to revision B in the 'Group' Site the region could review, check that they want to implement the revision, and if not this would stay at revision A for this development Project. However at present the file would be at revision B in 'Group' and the Awarded Packages areas and revisions A in the Technical and Tender Packages areas which causes errors and confusion.

 

This functionality would allow greater control of master documents when the roll-out needs to be staggered due to the different stages of sites across a Group.

    I kind of agree with this but wouldn't in all honesty like what's being asked to be done, to be done this way.

     

    There needs to be a better way of releasing different revisions to different audiences generally across the system, and it would be better if it wasn't necessarily tied to a multi-level Virtual Container system, but to some actual process such as a Task, Notification or Form.
