We have been trying to make it easier to find files within our trees for all consultants, and adding a number to the beginning is the easiest step so we can serialise locations i.e instead of <Planning/Application/Drawings/Plans> we could have 01.03.01.04.
This made it hard to determine how far in a branch a user is, so we adopted using letter, numerals, and romanettes. So instead you have 01.III.a.iv which instantly tells you how deep in a tree a folder is by the numbering system. Numerals place you in the second level, romanettes in the fourth.
This causes one small issue due to the file sorting system. IX would be our ninth file, and while 09. and i. place these in the correct places when using numbers and letter respectively, numerals and romanettes place it as the fourth file down, after IV but before V. Being able to manually correct this and have it represented for all users would be useful.
