New Vfp Interface - (Configuration Wizard Pop-Ups NOT SO GREAT)

Did Viewpoint do a factory reset and forget to update a section?

Unfortunately the Configuration Wizard Pop-Ups on Containers are very BLAND and hard to distinguish what has or has not been set.

For Example, On the old view when assigning Statuses within Containers it was very colourful and easy to tell what Statuses had been set just at a glance.

On your new layout, there is no colour and you have to dropdown each status to check whether or not they have been assigned to said container. You can't tell just at a glance. VERY TIME CONSUMING and again VERY BLAND.

Come on Viewpoint, did you forgot about this section for your update ?

Please bring back some colour or at least make it easy to read without dropping down every section to check settings etc.

Even worse is that this compounds a problem I've already reported a suggestion for, the fact that INHERITED status assignments do not show at all, and if you Assign any additional statuses in a container, all the previously-inherited assignations get removed and only the additionally-assigned statuses are left taking hold, meaning you have to re-assign all the inherited ones again.

With the new interface, that's even LESS clear to see when that's happened - well, not "less clear", more like, "completely impossible".

To re-iterate, all assigned statuses should be shown in a colour other than the default bar colour. And there should be TWO possible colours - one for inherited status assignments, and another for additional/manual assignments made at that level. Plus there ought to be an 'Inherit' tickbox (just like there is in so many other parts of the system) so you can state whether you want to keep the inherited assignations or not. Unticking it would grey them out (not default grey=off, but a pale version of the 'inherited assigned' colour, showing it's still inherited, but turned off - which you can then manually 'Assign' if required).

I don't think the people who mandated these changes actually use the software and don't care. They just want to impress their "look" on the software.

I'm all for standards. It's just a shame that any time any system has a committee set up to formulate those standards, they always come up with rubbish standards. They never invite anyone to the table who actually KNOWS what's wanted.
