Allowing Pop Ups has never been such a hindrance to our users. Carrying out basic functions for users such as downloading drawings is an issue ( although not confirmed with this help desk call). Attached are some other things that fall foul of users not prompted to allow pop ups. And the help returned is not compatible with Microsoft I assume

Dear Viewpoint Suggestion Box contributor;
We at Viewpoint sincerely thank you for your contribution to Suggestion Box on how we can improve Viewpoint products. While we can’t do everything at once, we rely upon your feedback to help guide the prioritization of our product improvements, and Suggestion Box is a critical tool for us to understand and prioritize our customers’ needs.
Viewpoint reviews Suggestion Box regularly for all of our products and updates statuses, adds comments, and performs various house-keeping (including deleting) as needed to ensure that Suggestion Box is maintained as a productive environment for product enhancements requests.

This seems to depend on company. My current company already has Viewpoint set up as a safe site for pop-ups, so we've never had to do anything. But it's certainly not the case in many companies, who block everything until you specifically request IT to do it for you, on an individual basis, and for everybody else having to do the same.
This unfortunately though is also a poor reflection on the IT policy management in some companies whereby they don't recognise EDMSs generally because it's not "software from them", and so treat each request to use it as some kind of personal favour, rather than an enterprise-grade tool, just because it's not an Accounts or Payroll thing.
