Could we please have a feature to allocate a different weightings to each vote decision? This is necessary for any scenario where we have three or more outcomes e.g. Status A, B or C, and need the result to be the 'lowest' outcome.
Currently we have a situation where if we ask multiple people to vote on a document, the outcome either goes to the majority decision or the "quick vote" defaults to one default decision. The current options don't allow us to accurately reflect the actual outcome, which should always be the lowest ranked vote, i.e. if two vote Status A, and one votes Status B, the document should be considered Status B.
The proposed solution would be to add different weightings to each vote decision. e.g. Status A = 3, Status B =2 and Status C =1. This would allow us to easily then decide the appropriate outcome e.g. A score of 9 would be Status A, 6 to 8 would be a Status B, and less than 6 would be Status C.
In the meantime, the only workaround is to put ourselves in the position of a casting vote, which requires an extra (and arguably unnecessary step) to discern what the vote outcome needs to look like. This isn't ideal and creates extra work for internal teams. I'd seen a similar suggestion on vote weighting from 2015, but thought I'd develop this a bit further. I believe this is something that definitely needs added to Viewpoint to accommodate this common scenario.
