The system shows two versions of the mark ups (which are slightly offset from each) following the burn in node on the workflows.
The fact that the duplicated mark ups, off set and sit on top of each other, make them unreadable when viewed online at times.
I would recommend turning off the mark up viewer after burn in so you only see the one set of mark ups.
