When a container or group of containers have their contents linked to a DVC, it would be useful for that DVC to automatically update if new documents are added to the source containers.

Dear Viewpoint Suggestion Box contributor;
We at Viewpoint sincerely thank you for your contribution to Suggestion Box on how we can improve Viewpoint products. While we can’t do everything at once, we rely upon your feedback to help guide the prioritization of our product improvements, and Suggestion Box is a critical tool for us to understand and prioritize our customers’ needs.
Viewpoint reviews Suggestion Box regularly for all of our products and updates statuses, adds comments, and performs various house-keeping (including deleting) as needed to ensure that Suggestion Box is maintained as a productive environment for product enhancements requests.

Completely agree - saves us having to add new drawings to the DVC ourselves and eliminate an admin task which is not necessary.
We have just procured VP and cant believe that we have to link to individual documents rather than folders when using DVC's. Please resolve as the workarounds we need to employ to manage this deficiency are ridiculous.
Hi,
The primary and most important feature that we would like to get out of Viewpoint is the ability to maintain a current set of drawings in one area/folder. In a training session with Viewpoint, we set up virtual containers and associated links. Since our architects and consultants do not make revisions in the Viewpoint program itself, when they do upload revisions, the revised drawing(s) do not retain the link, even though it has the same document name, same folder. We would like to know if Viewpoint Support has any suggestions or recommendations on how we can create and maintain a current set of drawings in one area at all times. We are still in the design process, but we are working on a project valued over $1 billion, so you can only imagine how important it will be during construction for current information to be readily and easily available. Thank you for your time and hopefully solution.

Automatic linking based on status code or revision would be of great use to UK projects
I would like the DVC to automatically add new documents (and remove - update DVC) based on advance search criteria (just like we create and save a report based on advance search criteria). Reason = DVC are preferred by users over reports but we don't use them much because they are high maintenance/time consuming to update.
Currently, you need to select individual documents to put into the DVC. If you select all documents, lets say 001 to 100 inclusive, within a container and link them to a DVC and then document 101 is added to the original source container, document 101 is not visible in the DVC and has to be added manually.
As I understand, in the example above documents 001 to 100 would automatically update if the source document is revised?
Jeremy - It is effectively linking the contents of a whole Container to the DVC eg adding new external wall details automatically would get added to any DVC that are accessed by the cladding subcontractor
Thank you for the suggestion
Are we talking about when documents are linked to a DVC and then revisions to the documents are uploaded to that document then the revision would update DVC without user interaction?
