Often, document controllers are asked to upload documents on behalf of other companies. This also happens when a workflow is broken and items have to be reloaded en mass. Currently, the person uploading is the owner, which means that, when a search is done by company, the relevant one won't appear.

It's not possible to change the owner when bulk uploading in 4Explorer. (perhaps you are trying to do it that way?)
However it is already possible to change the owner when bulk uploading from the Personal container. We do this a lot. Just make sure that you set the 'location' for the first record only and then change the owner ...once you have done this, you can click on the arrows to fill down the rest of the info across the columns and the Owner will be changed throughout. Hope that makes sense.
