Its not easy to see what documents/models are linked to what virtual containers or packages of information

Contractors often use Virtual containers to manage packages of information, yet it isnt easy to see what documents are allocated to what containers/packages. So if 10 new drawings come in, its difficult to establish if these have been allocated to packages already and which ones. The only way to do it is to click each individually and inspect their links.

We would like the ability to produce a report that shows all drawings in a container including the links to other virtual containers.

So for example "drawing name" in column 1 of the report shows links to VDC 1, 2 & 3 in columns 2, 3 and 4 of the excel report.

I think that this should be available as a column within Viewpoint for Projects also so that you can quickly check on Viewpoint if you need to associate this with any further containers, can this be link the linked locations setting which you can go in an add virtual containers and then copy a setting for one drawing down the list within editable grid

We are trying to use Matrix Transmittals for what they are (presumably) designed for - to have some users track some packages and others track all. If you are a Surveyor or Site Manager, trying to track changes to all of your packages and receive one transmittal with say 50 changes listed, it is very difficult to identify in which package that change has happened. Surely tracking location of changes is fairly fundamental to a document management system?

I've been asking for this for over a decade, It's fundamental. If you get staff changes on a projects you practically have to start again allocating drgs into DVC's. It's only existing meta-data, how hard can it be?. Why hasn't everybody voted for this?????

To ease the problem a matrix view of what documents are attached to what virtual containers, transmittals and so on would be an extremely useful management tool.

This is extremely time consuming and having the ability to see if a doc is already linked to a virtual container would be beneficial

Thank you for suggestion.  We will review with our development teams as this seems pretty straight forward and valuable.

Anfied Main Stand drawings are issued by Automated Matrix Transmittals relying on the above manual process for checking allocation. If this checking requirement that is very time consuming can be extremely beneficial.
