I've lost count of the hours I've wasted in this system trying to construct a search that will effectively pull out the documents I want. Boolean searches and more complex search strings would be a real help to me.

The searching capability is rather limited for a document management system. Our Viewpoint consultant advised us not to use the Search field at the top of the screen because it takes too long (correct advice) but that leaves the user with a separate Name and Description field. They often need to search twice over the two fields to find what they want. Furthermore, whilst you can spend time putting % s around words, only if those words are entered in the same order as they are on the document name or description will the item be found. This is very time consuming and doesn't meet expectations.
