We consider this more of an issue than a suggestion but here goes... recipients on a matrix transmittal receive a notification if there is a change to items in containers being tracked by any other recipients set up on the matrix - even when they, themselves are not ticked to be notified about that container.
In context, this means that our subcontractors are receiving collectively hundreds of notifications, advising that ''No items have been added or revised for your attention. Either metadata has been amended, or an item has been added but is not visible to you''. (so why send it??)
Feedback is that this means absolutely nothing to the contractor and is resulting in them ignoring notifications that do concern them.
The advice from Viewpoint is to set up a separate matrix transmittal for each recipient. Surely this negates the power of the matrix?

My matrix transmittal's dont even advise that items have been edited, they just send out blanks ?
I would suggest there is the option to turn off the notification if there is no change, as some people get confidence that nothing has changed and therefore they don't need to take any action. this probably applies more to scheduled matrix transmittals.
Agree with the Suggestion - a Matrix Transmittal only needs to be sent on a document being Revised/Added/Deleted in the relevant Container(s), not on change of Metadata.
