Support for Touchscreens on VFP

VFP can only be accessed via a mouse & keyboard at the moment.

As more laptops get converted to mobile devices, we will need to have the ability to access VFP via touch only.

This can 1 of 2 options.

  • You create a mobile optimised version of VFP. Like ebay and Amazon, where they have 2 interface types (desktop and mobile)
  • You create a better mobile app with support for Windows 10 primarily but Android as secondary.

If bullet one above

needs to be a 2 stage touch enabled interface. This includes the standard VFP interface but also the markup viewer. The markup viewer does not work using touch interface.

    Are we likely to see an improvement to this, as we are almost 7 years on and there is still no compatibility with mark-ups on touchscreen devises?

    Hello, If, like me you've come across this particular suggestion because you are trying to get VFP to work for markups on touchscreen devices (like MS Surface, or big display screens such as the Promethean ActivPanel devices) using Windows 10, then try IE (Yes really) - We've found that HTML 5 Brava currently works in IE on our touchscreens - Chrome/Firefox doesn't. - This isn't supported by VFP however, so for how long is anyones guess.  Sorry to gatecrash!
