Is it possible to have a default view to always show the complete Name, Description, Status etc when searching for documents. Our document number (Name) is long and is cut off when we search in containers. Rather than have to always select the Auto Resize Column, is there no option to have this as a default.

Andrew Brennan - This doesn't work for me, I've tried both options and still have to Auto Resize Columns
+Bradley Yes agreed. There should be a better set of defaults according to common lengths.
+Andrew Brennan Even with Saved Views, new items being in Bold pushes everything even wider still, so what do you do? Create a saved view that deliberately widens everything out for when items are bold/unread, and have lots of empty space when those items are non-bold/read?
Either that or a different way to indicate unread items rather than bold text - like using a glow, white for example.
The Autofit icon could do with being more prominent, and also labelled - it's very hard describing to people to click "the icon that looks a bit like a bar of dark chocolate".
The name column should default to a standard length so that the BS1192 naming fits, we should not have to create a view and amend the width.
This can be managed in a saved view by selecting 'fixed width' for the field in question and specifying either a fixed width, or show all text option.
