Currently through the API you can subscribe a user to a document or container; however, you can not unsubscribe the user. In many cases, a user may choose to follow a particular item for a period of time. When they are no longer assigned to the project, they will likely wish to stop receiving notification. A method for removing the user from the notification would provide this functionality. There would need to be a way to identify which notification id on an item contains the specific user to whom is being removed; and a method for removing the user. This would be a great help and add great functionality to the API

To be honest, there is a way to remove the user from the assigned Container/Folder. After you remove the user from the container he automatically will be removed from every single document/file as long as that file was part of the container.
