Submit Your Suggestions for Viewpoint for Projects

'Withdrawn' status required, with strikethrough on text

Please could we have the option to mark items as withdrawn?

'Withdrawn' items will show up as normal in search results, and will still be able to be viewed, but text will appear with a strikethrough, as previously available within 4P 2G

Items made ‘inactive’ (or worse, deleted) are inaccessible and as they are a record of design/project development, we still need to be able to open and read these items.  While some items may become ‘irrelevant’ to the current stage of the project they will need to be clearly identified to Trades and consultants as ‘not applicable’ to construction stage

Also there may be items submitted to the Client, which at a later point in time will become superseded by new drawing numbers/series, or withdrawn completely from the scheme.  We will still need to access these items through 4Projects, again as a record of changing development in both design and construction processes.

I would suggest creating a workflow which will allow you to give these items a Withdrawn activity status, whilst still retaining the original audit history and location.

The work around so far offered seem to centre around moving items to a 'trash' folder. This is not feasible as then the whole set of revisions move to trash and this is not accurate. The only work around we can see that sort of works is to edit the revision in question and append 'superseded' onto the revision number. Then revise the item and set the revision to the original. It is a bit faffy and really, to cater to this sector, VFP needs to have a dedicated process for superseding items.

Yes, but moving items to new containers changes the history, then making the items more difficult to track and audit.

Charlotte, I get round this by moving the drawings to a container called "dead drawings" that has limited security group access so the wider audience can't see but we retain all the access history etc.
