Add a user defined column that can be defined as a drop down or text field that can then populate a report. This would be useful for specific clients' requirements.

This is already possible via the Custom Fields feature. Here is a link to the relevant part of our help site. Custom fields can be organized a number of ways like free text fields, drop-down lists, radio buttons, true/false, etc. They can then be added to a view and searched/exported if necessary.
