Remove a watermark / Revert to original file without watermark

I add a watermark to drawings that have not yet been approved in a workflow, using a compliance node.  When drawings are printed or download the primary file now has the words 'NOT YET REVIEWED' as a watermark on the pdf. could there be a simple way of reverting to the original file, the one without the watermark, when that workflow has terminated and review has taken place. At present this has to be done manually and individually by switching the primary and secondary files back around.
