Viewpoint should propose the following date formats <DD/MM/YYYY>, <DD/MM/YY hh:mm>, <YYYY-MM-DD> or <YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm> (last two as per ISO 8601) as they are commonly used for word editing or file numbering.

The current format includes the day and is too long. Date columns take too much space and if you reduce them then you only see the day and the date.
